Just a Minute

Tell us what makes you feel creative. In one sentence!

From taking a walk, doing a daily sketch, to listening to a particular song - how do you reach a state of creative flow?

As you may know, some volunteers are working with us to organise an exhibition in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University’s Glass Tank gallery exploring the theme of creative flow. The title of the exhibition, Flow at the Glass Tank comes from the concept of Flowstate, which was developed by psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi to anatomise the experience of total immersion in a task: “the state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter."

To help us explore the themes in the exhibition and promote the project online, we’re looking for quick responses to one or more of the following questions:

How do you personally reach a state of creative flow?

Do you have your own way of developing an idea?

Is there a particular place or environment that makes you feel more creative?

Send us 1 sentence answers (or max. 4 sentences) and we’ll share as many as we can on social media in the next few weeks. Share your answers with Andree at andree.latham@modernartoxford.org.uk (please include a note to us if you’d rather be anonymous).

Thank you all!

Andree
